Now that you've shot off a few dozen missiles, what's next? Roll over and go to sleep? If any of the survivors of those we just killed take exception to this remote-control carnage, you're okay with whatever their reaction is, right? Or is that too far into the future, and a problem for another day?

No one is saying that Syria has no chemical weapons. Stop with the strawman.

You can do the right thing for all the wrong reasons. Unless you really believe Trump's heart grew three times larger at the sight of dead babies. The same babies who would have been sent right back into the war zone if their parents tried to escape to the US because of his Muslim Ban.

This will make NO difference to the outcome of this war. It was political theatre.

Was he not watching the news over the last several years?
He only watches Fox...maybe Fox didn't show the suffering in Syria.

Something tells me, he wasn't paying attention.
I think he just assumed that the rebels were a bunch of Jihadis and ISIS.
He saw Assad as someone who was keeping them under control.

I don't think he was paying attention.

It was convenient political cover for a man who doesn't give a single shit about Syrians or Assad gassing his people.

He tells Russia in advance of the attack, Russia tells Assad, Assad empties the base, we punch a few holes in the ground, Putin puts on a pouty face, and Trump says "No puppet! No puppet! You're the puppet!".

What Assad did certainly warranted a real, legitimate, thought out response.

This was not a real response. Not even close. It was a charade. It was Kabuki.

Bleeding hearts will be contented with a lame attack against Assad while we lock the innocent victims inside Syrian borders and escalate there misery.

The US is currently and has been for months and months helping starve millions of children in Yemen, to help a dictator reinstall another dictator.

Number of Americans that gave a solitary fuck?

The US has a LONG history of bombing women and children.

Number of Americans that care?

Americans have chosen tax cuts over helping poor children over and over and over.

But now, we've done what? Bombed a mostly empty airbase, which won't stop Assad from gassing anyone. And it cost taxpayers enough to feed how many poor kids? Tens of thousands.

And so we should be happy and feel like we're good guys?

Utter bullshit.

We caused Syria. That's 500k dead on our heads. And millions more in Iraq.

But sure, we blew up six planes so aren't we special. Oh and btw we take fewer refugees than the Muslim countries our government just tried to ban from coming here.

America would have to do a hell of a lot more before I would even vaguely begin to consider its on the side of good in the ME.

I wouldn't be surprised if Assad, Putin and Trump worked this all out
in advance. The runways weren't damaged, Trump is being hailed as
a "real" president. Trump gets sheltered from the "Russian" thing.

What then was the precise objective of last night's strike, and to what extent did the strike accomplish it?

And can we finally stop pretending we're clever enough to talk of such things with Biblical absolutism?

The attack was pointless, unwarranted, and won't have the desired effect.

It's confirmation of the fact that Trump and most on the right are reckless, irresponsible warmongers.

Maddow show, is that we fired 70 tomahawks at 1 target which is beyond overkill and probably a waste of tomahawks (which aren't cheap). Action was warranted, but I would prefer a much more savvy/rational military tactician making the decisions. That is just not Trump.
