Trump plans centrist push.

Adios:

Steve Bannon, the engine and soul of President Trump's hard-edged approach to his first months in office, is increasingly isolated and will be forced out unless he can adopt a more cooperative approach, a top source told me. On both style and substance, Bannon got crosswise with Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, who are pushing for a more competence- and results-driven focus for the West Wing.

In their view, Bannon is too inclined to want to burn things down and blow things up. They want a more open process driven by the interests of the president, not ideology.

A senior official said Chief of Staff Reince Priebus is "with the program" of a more inclusive style, and will stay. Insiders have been feverishly discussing possible replacements and Trump considered a change, but the official said: "Reince is staying."

The changing culture: Here are the two crucial words to understand the outgoing style and incoming style: We're told that rather than "nationalist" vs. "globalist," think of "combat" vs. "collaboration."

I'm confident enough that the people who disapprove of him now won't fall for this charade. That said, it's going to piss off his base to no end.

Do it Donnie!!!

Until he does that, any so-called centirist approach is a lie

Like dubya's "compassionate conservatism", it's just lipstick on a pig.

From Full Metal Jacket....

Lt. Lockhart: ... we have a new directive from M.A.F. on this. In the future, in place of "search and destroy," substitute the phrase "sweep and clear." Got it?

Private Joker: Got it. Very catchy.

bill. The hard-right folks blocked it and spoiled poor Trumpy's day. Bannon was a proponent, so he gets some of the blame, apparently.

Frankly, I expect Bannon to leave the White House very soon. That will not be a loss of any kind.

Bannon is a loose cannon.

If Bannon goes, it will be interesting to see if he turns Breibart and the Breitbarters against Trump. His personality indicates that he will. So how will the move affect Trump's base?

Interesting times.

That's his schtick. He's a very extreme Libertarian who verges on being an anarchist. He wants to tear everything down and help nobody at all with anything. In that, he's also aligned with the extreme Alt-Left, which also seems to think that anarchy is superior to democracy.

Screw him! Trump will still be a moron if Bannon leaves. There's no help for that. But Bannon is not a useful character for any administration. He is simply a piece of debris rattling around in the works.

Bannon's ouster explains Yerkle McTurtle's rush on the confirmation this week. He was making the world safe for Pence.

The goal is still to dismantle Government as a entity that serves the Common Good and keep it as a means of controlling the population and siphoning money out of them.

A move to the center is not what his fans and his fundraisers want. FWIW, the Freedom Caucus would have fits.

It does make one think about how such a move would affect Trumpcare.
