My husband, an ex-cop, says the United passenger may have been tasered

That is why he was screaming like he did. That is why he was out of it as they dragged him down the aisle and disoriented after. He thinks they tasered him.
Fuckers.

on the money the airline is going to have to shell out to make this one go away. A court case? Oh, forget that one, they'd never survive it.

They never thought of doing this shit to us when we were customers and not consumers.

I thought he had been tazed. Exactly -- he started screaming in reaction to something, and I suspect it was being struck with a taser. God it disgusts me -- this is what happens when "capitalism" rules and companies aren't held to basic standards. I hope he sues the shit out of them. United can afford it. This man could have died from a heart attack -- and all because the fucking airline wanted the seat for themselves and their employees and of course $$$ reasons?

"Involuntary de-boarding?!" We live in a world that Orwell couldn't even imagine.

“He was kind of saying that he was being singled out because he’s a Chinese man” when speaking to the manager, who was African-American, Bridges said. “You should know what this is like,” the man said, according to Bridges. The AP was unable to confirm the passenger’s identity.

belt in one part of the video. I was wondering what that was -- probably a taser? You can see it under his black sweatshirt as he puts his arm around the back of his belt. Maybe your husband can ID it. Not sure what it was (cellphone?), but I did notice it. Not sure I worded it correctly because I don't know the weapon nomenclature.

And I would bet other passengers on that plane would line up to be witnesses against United in a lawsuit. This event has reminded me how old I am. I actually remember when traveling by air was a great experience and when the employees of an airline treated you like royalty. Yep . . . I'm that old.

The flight was delayed getting to the terminal so he whined about that Clinton getting a haircut. I had never heard that dumbass RW story because I did not rush home and veg out in front of the TV news every evening to hear what the oracle was telling America.

You don't see taser holsters on the officers.

I don't think Chicago Aviation Security officers even carry tasers. I can't find a single picture of one with one and given that they are not allowed firearms I doubt they have them.

And the biggest reason is that his screaming wasn't consitent with being tasered. You usually can't control your breathing enough to scream like he did where he is taking breaths and screaming without difficulty. If you can scream you usually can empty you lungs and then it's done until the shock ends.

I've been razed a couple dozen times and still teach and certify for taser use, and it doesn't look like it to me.

He only screamed a few times, though. Then he was totally silent and out of it as they dragged his flaccid body down the aisle. When he came back on the plane, he was still disoriented.
So what was it?

pouch. It's on his belt. I watched it again today and saw it. Handcuffs? Cell phone? It's holstered to his belt and you can see it as his black sweatshirt moves to reveal it.

A taser looks pretty much like a holstered pistol, but they tend to be in more awkward holsters that stick out more. They are very obvious when worn, and usually worn to the front or in a cross-draw fashion backwards from how the person would carry a pistol to avoid confusing the two under stress.

It's very obvious when worn.
