By: NH1 News Political Unit

... new polls suggest .. Trump’s approval rating edged up ... following the U.S. missile strikes ...

Forty-three percent of people questioned in a new CBS News public opinion survey released Monday morning said they approved of the job Trump’s doing as president. The poll was conducted Friday through Sunday, entirely after Thursday’s U.S. military attack on a Syrian airbase which came in response to chemical weapons attack by the Damascus regime on its own citizens earlier in the week ...

The President’s approval rating is up .. from March 29, when 40% ... gave Trump a thumbs up on the job he was doing... The President’s disapproval rating dropped from 52% in the March 29 poll to 49% in the new survey ...

The CBS poll said seven in 10 Americans think Trump should get congressional approval before taking any further action ...

Are they the most gullible, fickle dupes in the country or what?

Everything becomes so polarized it's difficult to imagine there being people who could be swayed from disliking tRump over a single military act.

Congressional Democrats and Democrats on this board. Its the biggest bunch of horseshit I have ever seen.

and they like blowing stuff up. Tough guy sells.

Two things - I'm a Texan and I can tell you that once you know a few "cowboys" you might think differently about them. Secondly, this is simply a political stunt that will simply complicate the situation in Syria. More war - America is tired of war. More political discourse - we are sick as we can be of politics.

WTF has happened to this country?

One comedian said of these media tongue-baths: It's like somebody showing up for work every day in their underwear and a bathrobe and when he finally comes in wearing pants and a shirt he gets a standing ovation.

and most of this falls within that. I actually expected some sort increase over this so I'm sort of happy it's not much higher if at all.

FWIW the very conservative Rasmussen's poll trends surprised me more and in a good way:

what 'looks' like a slight tick up. I see it more as a distraction from other much more important issues that need to be addressed.

Glad you agree. We must have been typing our replies at the same time. I took statistics eons ago in college (lucked into a professor that was excellent) and haven't looked at polls in the same way since.

He still doesn't have the trust and respect of the American people.

After all of the fawning by repubs, Dems and media alike, if people trusted him, it would be much a much bigger.

"if people trusted him, it would be much a much bigger" IMO this is really what we need to take from this poll.

While we'd all highly prefer to see the numbers drop further, considering the circumstances, I think we should see this as a plus for those of us against Trump's agenda and NOT one for Trump.

Where I'm from, that's about useless.
Disapproval down to 49% is still LOUSY, 3+ months in! Thanks cbs, for not much!

I'm not exactly sure what to make of my own statement, but I feel trump is nowhere near as popular as that unpopular president turned out to be

Maybe I'm out of touch, but I doubt most Americans don't have a stomach for the type of war Korea would be. I hope the little bump he got doesn't embolden him on Korea.
