Source: IBT
The two minute clip filmed and uploaded on Saturday 8 April shows Officer Zachary Rosen charging up to restrained suspect DeMarco Anderson and violently trampling his head into the ground during an incident in Columbus, Ohio.
Prior to the attack, Anderson can be seen lying face down on the pavement handcuffed and held down by another officer. He is not resisting arrest and the situation is under control.
Seemingly unprovoked, Zachary then charges in from off-screen and smashes the young man's head against the pavement, which can be seen at the start of the video.

(26,060 posts)Screw him being under investigation - strip him of his badge IMMEDIATELY and charge him with assault. PERIOD. Nobody else would have to wait for charges to be filed.

(26,060 posts)an investigation but only with cops do they not charge immediately. Why should they get the benefit of the doubt when this video is out there?

Apparently, this is where we live now.

(6,324 posts)Nope, can't here.
Arrest and charge him now.
If the officer who was cuffing him didn't report it fire him.
Carefully review the tape and any body or dash cam footage to see what other officers would have seen it happen and if they didn't report it fire them.
No excuse for that. There is no train of thought you can possibly attribute to the officers actions that could remotely rationalize that action. It's pure assault and abuse of the position of public trust and needs the harshest response possible.

(6,247 posts)There are no justifiable excuses for every law enforcement officer not being wired and filmed while on duty. None.

Whatever happened prior to this is immaterial, though.
