"Keep government away from my Medicare!"

What in the world do right wingers mean when they say that? I think it was first stated as a satirical comment on people on Medicare who were against the ACA aka socialized medicine , but those people seem to have taken up the cry with no irony at all! Do they mean," keep politicians away from my Medicare"? "keep Democratic politicans away from my Medicare"? Do they think they are on private insurance (Medicare Advantage)?
Or do they really not understand that Medicare is a government program?

4. It's a mystery

They didn't care Bush screwed them with his Medicare Part D, or the cost which was at first a low bid, and come to find out it was Billions off the mark. But a black man in charge is ALL it comes down too. Obama could single handily put out their house fire, and they would still hate him.
