(28,270 posts)More eyeballs on the newscasts equals more $$$ for the republican corps that control all the news that is seen in this country.
And hell their kids and their friends kids will not be affected by any war only the poor kids caught up in the economic draft will pay the price.
So damn the torpedoes and let slip the dogs of war says the MSM!

(13,081 posts)Lots of music, lots of podcasts, lots of audiobooks. I read the news multiple times a day, because I've been an addict since 9/11, but the only way to improve cable news is to drive a stake through its black heart. I do kind of miss Maddox, though (but she's got funny tweets!).
Also: the chihuahua is not nearly as impressed with Hoover Dam as I am, but he likes the railroad tunnels very much,
I've been cleaning a wardrobe - the TV is on Hoarding :Chuckle:

(13,081 posts)I'm a hoarder, my mom is. Genetic and definitely part of my craziness. We don't need dumpsters or a TV crew, but occasionally a couple of episodes of Hoarders results in us having a very clean office (or kitchen or garage or whatever).

(10,132 posts)Just mentioning Hoarders makes me want to clean out a closet or make a pass through the garage. Now I'm off to tackle the bookshelves: do I really need a 30-year old listing of French hotels? (My husband, who works for the local Friend of the Library, says old travel guides mostly get tossed into the mixed-paper recycling bin, but at least there they're potentially doing more good than collecting dust.)

That said I did start cleaning the wardrobe while watching Hoarding this morning

(115,661 posts)I don't hoard stuff - It doesn't bother me to throw stuff away - but I am untidy and disorganized. "Hoarders" makes me want to clean up while also making me feel better about my untidiness.

(50,255 posts)Earlier than usual, but I can't stand lettuce from the grocery store one minute longer than I have to. (As for "Hoarding," I switch over to that every so often as motivation to clean the house. LOL.)

(268,885 posts)Nothing like fresh lettuce.
Seriously when I switched to Hoarding, I started cleaning the wardrobe

(10,132 posts)we've had a very cool, wet year here in northern California (it rained yeaterday, unusual this late in the season) and the greens are going crazy. Anybody got any recipes fot lettuce soup - or anything else using lettuce besides salads?

(268,885 posts)Salads or rabbit feed

(10,132 posts)and other greens are winter crops: the dry heat we get the rest of the year makes them bitter - if they haven't bolted already. I didn't overplant, but they just got enormous. And rabbits are not a solution: we don't have wild ones here. And while the racoons will eat cabbages they do not seem interested in other greens - and there's enough wild greens this year that they don't have to resort to raiding gardens.
