Meanings of "canon":

1) Main text that a movement or group follows. "The catechism is part of the Catholic canon." The opposite of fan fiction. A series of closely related meanings to this.

2) Brand of DSLR and other cameras, as well as printers and office equipment.

3) (cooking) A rolled and filleted loin of meat. a canon of beef or lamb

4) (printing, dated) A large size of type formerly used for printing the church canons, standardized as 48-point.

5) The part of a bell by which it is suspended; the ear or shank of a bell.

6) (billiards) A carom.
