http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/14/weather/california-super-bloom/index.htmlCNN)Southern California is enjoying a wildflower "super bloom" after years of extreme drought.
The state had been under a drought state of emergency since 2014, but Gov. Jerry Brown lifted the order for all but four counties, earlier this month.
The wet winter strained reservoirs to the max and replenished mountain snowpacks, which are now at 164 percent of the season average.
You can see the difference from space. Satellite images shot in December, 2016, and March of this year show a dramatic increase in greenery.

(3,847 posts)California was going into drought when I lived there. It has been more than 5 years of drought, it started with eh Gropenater and of course he did nothing to help the situation. He truly sucked.

Its been a number of years since I first saw this picture Identified originally from the Carrizo Plain. In subsequent years I have seen notes claiming this very same picture to be from a number of different places. I am surprised to see it once again with the implication it is current which it is not. If you google this image you get About 25,270,000,000 results (0.60 seconds).
thats right not 25 million but 25 billion copies of this image floating out there saying it came form all kinds of places on this plannet.
