Trump worships Mammon, to an extent rarely seen in this great land. The Bible says "you cannot serve both God and money," so Trump decided he'd serve money.

so I wouldn't be expecting any outrage about their demigod missing church. In their eyes, I'm sure he carries it with him everywhere he goes.

Delusions offer a cushion reality doesn't. Always soft landings on the altar of if you believe it is true, then it is true...no matter the evidence to the contrary.

No. 45 doesn't go to church because he doesn't believe there is anyone smarter or better than he is. To got to church would suggest that there is someone or some thing worth worshiping other than himself. Thereby, 300 million people suffer from his hypocrisy, racism, incredible ignorance and his desire to blow things up.

Trump used the religious beliefs of his voters for political gain. The religious right (very strong in the Red States) were a main reason he got elected. Now that Trump is president* he doesn't even pretend to share their views.

Your comment that the "only good thing about Trump" is inaccurate because he definitely does provide lip service in that... he did attend an Easter service at an Episcopalian church in Palm Beach, he has said the his favorite book is the Bible, he originally said that he'd give priority to Christian refugees and he supposedly became a 'born again' Christian... At least that's what Dobson and other evangelicals were lead to believe last year.

A few sources for the above:

Personally I think the only thing Trump worships is himself and money' but he knows he has to put on a show of faith to keep his base enthralled and buying his BS.

All they've done is co-opt Christianity and God in defending him despite his past of sexual misconduct and offensive remarks. They've defended a fake Christian who doesn't care about the well-being of anyone except himself. Yet Democrats are branded as the evil-doers and antichrists.

we will see trump's next church appearance during the 2020 campaign, with cameras rolling.

to answer your "where's the outrage" question, the answer is that the rage is in the same place the "they don't support our military" outrage (Trump's John McCain comments during the campaign), and the republican "family values" outrage ("grab em by the pussy) and "lack of patriotism" outrage ("A lot of people are killers, do you think we're so innocent?&quot . It's conveniently, selectivity sitting on a shelf somewhere, waiting for a moment to spring on a democrat whenever they see fit.

President Trump, first lady, other relatives attend Easter services at Palm Beach church

Eager congregants craned their necks to see and stopped to talk with President Donald Trump and his family Sunday morning at an Easter church service in Palm Beach.

Trump sat adjacent to the aisle in a pew near the altar of the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea, with U.S. Secret Service officers hovering nearby. He was accompanied by first lady Melania Trump, daughter Tiffany, and son Barron. Melania Trump’s parents were also there.
