Democrats say they can ride fury over Trump to a congressional takeover

WASHINGTON — Democrats need more voters like Sandi Strasberg if they want to avoid another shellacking.

For nearly 20 years, Strasberg did what most loyal Democrats do: She went to the voting booth only for presidential contests and ignored everything else, like congressional elections and races for governor.

But now, she intends to take her anger at President Donald Trump out on Republicans running for Congress.

“Everything changed when Trump got elected,” said Strasberg, a resident of Georgia’s 6th Congressional District in the northern Atlanta suburbs. “I started seeing what’s going on in Washington, started seeing all of these horrible things.”

Strasburg not only plans to vote in a special House of Representatives election on Tuesday, and has volunteered for Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff.

“I have to give my voice,” she said.

Just as an aside I hope most people here don't just vote every 4 years in the presidential elections. Often who gets in during the off years will affect your life a lot more.

4. Well I'm pretty furious too

It's no longer just enough to vote. Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE must get plugged in working with your local Dem party as a volunteer to elect Dems up and down the ticket.

5. Something has to happen!

The GOP has had their way for way too fucking long, and they've done nothing but loot and pillage, and have done long term irreparable damage to the country. And Trump is them taking things way too far. They need to get kicked out of office before they get us all killed.

6. This Country is in an Emergency situation.

No matter what happens with this administration, Democratic control of AT LEAST one branch will be absolutely required to keep the tentacles of this dictatorship from choking off every last chance.
