Democrat Narrowly Misses Outright Win in Georgia House Race. NYT

'Jon Ossoff, a Democrat making his first bid for elective office, narrowly missed winning a heavily conservative House district in Georgia outright on Wednesday, according to The Associated Press. It threw a scare into Republicans in a special congressional election that was seen as an early referendum on President Trump. Mr. Ossoff fell just short of the 50 percent threshold needed to win the seat, and he will face Karen Handel, the top Republican vote-getter, in a June runoff.'>>>

of people just vote Republican just because. So this particular Republican needs to be investigated to the hilt to find skeletons in their closet

WHY can't Democrats show this to be the nastiness of the Republicans

"Karen Handel promised to cut spending, repeal Obamacare and reduce regulations when she announced her candidacy in the 6th Congressional District special election.

Cut 28 million off of their health insurance? Can you spell sadistic?

Reduce regulations. Oil industries means she is OK for allowing more toxins into the air for little children to breath and get sick by. Oh and does she have any kids she will be exposing these toxins to? Lists of the toxins and the harm on human health is great and can be found on the net.

And I think that there needs to be a clear explanation of why cutting costs does not necessarily mean a better economy. All it means is the government doesn't have to spend more money but at what cost?

These things need to be explained to the lower thought ones among us. They keep voting Republican even though there are clear economic indicators that show the economy gets worse under Republican rule!

...from the People's Republic of Escape From New York. Being sadistic to other people, toxins that other people have to deal with, they're all OK with that. They count it as a plus.

Now that the Republican vote won't be split several ways, it's going to take targeting local concerns (and dirt-digging) to win Round 2.

for sure. It's questionable whether all the Pubs will vote for Hendel. The other concern is how many of the voters who voted in the Primary will vote in the runoff. I know to be able to vote in the runoff you HAD TO HAVE voted in the primary. I guess we'll have to see. Having gotten a tad over 50% is a positive for Ossoff, I'll have to keep my fingers crossed until June.

The four other Ds would not have been enough to throw him over 50%.

Still, not all Rs like Handel. Ossoff might be able to pull this off in June if the Rs stop cheating. Ossoff's campaign has to be smart

cheating that goes on in Ga. I still have high hopes he will pull off this election. Handel has run for office a number of different times. Four I think, but never even came close, and she sure doesn't have enthusiasm that Ossoff has , and THAT can make or break an election.

If such a high percentage of 06 has post-secondary degrees, it will be appreciated for both the knowledge and the discipline to earn the degrees.

My understanding is that Handel isn't degreed, and her pluses are only her Sec. of State job and I guess whatever she was doing to screw over Planned Parenthood and poor women.
