34 Patriots Just Defied Trump In The Way That Hurts Him Most

34 Patriots Just Defied Trump In The Way That Hurts Him Most

By Colin Taylor
Published on April 19, 2017

President Trump got another chance to smile for the camera and pal around with his heroes on his favorite football team, the New England Patriots – but it turns out they weren’t so excited to hang out with him.

More than half of the team’s 53-man roster refused to attend the White House meeting, as per Patriots beat reporter Doug Kyed.

Donald Trump’s personal hero, superstar quarterback Tom Brady, cited “personal reasons” for not meeting the President; his mother is reportedly sick but his wife has also publicly warned him to not to get involved in politics.

Other players, however, were much more vocal about their decision to boycott the Oval Office and the photo-op with Trump.

Defensive tackle Alan Branch said that he was “horrified” by Trump’s boasting about the casual sexual assault on the infamous Access Hollywood tape. “I have three daughters. I wouldn’t spend time away from my family to shake the hand of a guy I wouldn’t want to meet with or talk to. I can’t see myself going and then hanging out with my kids and pretending everything was all right” said Branch to the Boston Globe.

Defensive back Devin McCourty told TIME that “I’m not going to the White House. Basic reason for me is I don’t feel accepted in the White House. With the president having so many strong opinions and prejudices I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won’t. I can’t imagine a way I go there.”

Patriots coach Bill Belichick and the Patriots organization, in general, are notoriously reluctant to speak with the media, so most of the players have elected to keep their personal reasons for staying home to themselves.

snip//

While Trump may have enjoyed receiving his championship jersey from his campaign donor and Patriots owner Robert Kraft, even the sweetness of this victory turned to ash in his mouth.

“What a great play by Danny Amendola that night, where’s Danny? Danny?” asked Trump excitedly at one point, eager to be in the spotlight with the man who made one of the pivotal fourth-down plays during the Patriots’ admittedly epic comeback.

But Danny was not there.

67. So were the people his guru/business partner scammed selling cancer curing snake oil
Thu Apr 20, 2017, 12:22 AM

Brady actively doesn't give a fuck about any of them or he wouldn't still support his guru. Instead, Brady claims that the FTC didn't give the entire story about some magic potion that claimed to cure cancer, diabetes, AIDS, Parkinson's and MS. Apparently his guru lying about being a doctor and lying about a study that found after 8 years 192 of the 200 person study were still alive doesn't make Tom Brady question his guru. The FTC ordering Alex Guerrero to never lie about being a doctor, to stop selling his magic potion, to pay a fine and to never again make false and outrageous claims about supplements again didn't deter Tom Brady from hopping into business with the guy.

Tom Brady had no problems shilling an equally fraudulent concussion proofing water. And when the FTC spanked both Brady and Guerrero, Brady still leaps to defend him.

If Tom Brady has no problems with selling bullshit to desperate people, then I would say his mom dying from one of the same diseases that his business partner eagerly lied about, is poetic justice.

My grandmother died of cancer, my grandfather had Parkinson's, my stepgrandmother died of cancer, my friend's mom has MS, my brother survived stage 4 cancer. It's fucking personal to me that these worthless human beings would gladly lie to people to scam a dishonest buck.

Tom Brady can go fuck himself with a rusty chainsaw for being a despicable human being who steals from desperate people.

“Overcoming long odds … is the foundation of everything that is great about this country,” Kraft said at the ceremony from the South Lawn of the White House.

“This year’s championship was achieved after falling behind 25 points … that deficit had only been overcome seven times,” he continued. “In that same [manner], a very good friend of mine for over 25 years … launched a campaign for the president … facing odds almost as long as we faced. He persevered to become the 45th president of the United States.”

Kraft also praised Trump for beating "19 career politicians"

Quarterbacks are more and more protected to the point where hard hits on them are far less common than in the past. Linemen take the majority of the physical abuse slamming into each other and they are getting far fewer rules to keep them safe.

I was pissed at TB, BB, and Kraft for their support of Trump last year. While both Brady and Kraft cited personal friendship, that didn't excuse any of it. Friends shouldn't let friends loose on an unsuspecting public. As a matter of fact - how can anybody BE friends with someone like Trump and be able to look at oneself in the mirror?

The fact that Trump never once mentioned Brady today was pretty odd, though, considering he couldn't keep stop yammering about him for months
