Gisele tweets anti-Trump march as Brady skips White House visit
By Brandon Carter - 04/19/17 05:18 PM EDT

Supermodel and philanthropist Gisele Bündchen tweeted a link to an April protest against President Trump and his climate policies at the same time Wednesday that her husband, NFL quarterback Tom Brady, was missing the New England Patriots' visit to the White House.

On April 29th in Washington- D.C. - March for climate, jobs, and justice. To change everything, we need everyone. https://t.co/dZaRiXQV46
— Gisele Bündchen (@giseleofficial) April 19, 2017

The tweet links to a video promoting the People’s Climate March, a Washington, D.C., protest planned to coincide with Trump’s 100th day in office.

Bündchen has supported many environmental causes throughout her career. In 2008, she began a project called “Forest of the Future” to begin replanting the Brazilian rainforest, and in 2011, the International Green Awards named her its most environmentally friendly celebrity.

Trump has drawn sharp criticism from green groups for his handling of the environment, moving to roll back Obama-era pollution policies and appointing an Environmental Protection Agency head who rejects the mainstream science behind climate change.

“We want to put hundreds of thousands of people into the streets of DC and bring our voices to the halls of political power,” the organizers of the People’s Climate March say on its website, noting they plan to also hold marches across the country.

and just didn't back down from that (I wish he hadn't been friendly with Trump, but that's a different issue). I think it's misplaced loyalty, but he never campaigned for Trump, nor did he say he voted for him. I don't think he's a very political person. He also has a chip on his shoulder the size of an iceberg over all the comments about deflating footballs. I think he'd be better served to get a sense of humor about it, but that's just how it is.

kind of a little more impressed with her these days. She seems to be a good influence on Tom, who doesn't appear to have many original thoughts of his own.

I thought her walk during the Olympic opening ceremonies was the high point of the whole day. She seemed so joyous.

But, his wife seems pretty awesome. The fact that he was smart enough to marry her makes me dislike him less.

Tom Brady will not attend White House ceremony for "family reasons"

Brady will skip the festivities with Trump today for what he describes as "family reasons".

I know his Mother is very ill, but I don't think that's the excuse for not attending. After all, it's only one afternoon and it is off season, so he gets to spend almost all the time he wants with his ailing Mother, and that's commendable.

No, I speculate that he is not attending because of his wife, Geisel. She hates Trump. I can more readily see a scene like this, "Tom, if you go for that photo-op with that piece of shit fascist bastard, you may as well stay at the White House, 'cause you can't come home".

After all, during the election and NFL season, Brady told the Press, that "my wife told me to stop talking about politics". That was when he said kind words about Trump.

I believe this is the "family matter" he's talking about.
