I can't stand the guy but I swear sometimes the conspiracy theories that get started here start to sound like Info Wars stuff

(31,106 posts)Clearly he is a disgusting piece of shit and probably as guilty as the rest of espionage.
Nunes too, especially.

(12,640 posts)If he is going to go, he'll want to clear out his office before turning in the notice.
That is, if anything is going to happen.
Me, I think this is all a trial balloon to see how many people are actually concerned about what happens to him and his position. If there's a big "please don't go", he's probably thinking about what his future options are - if he returns to a lackluster practice or business, go lobbyist, or stay in government living off that sweet, sweet taxpayer money.

(18,671 posts)Trump should have been impeached months ago if this weren't a country full of apathetic, willfully ignorant humans. The big "breaking" stories don't ever seem to come into fruition so I've given up on them. Trump will not be impeached. It is likely going to play out like this, and this is more credible than most of the "breaking" stories I've seen since November:

(70,022 posts)yeah, a lot of rumors dont pan out. but a lot of rumors do turn out to be true, too.
i cant count how many times there was a "rumor" that was discussed here, roundly poo pooed, and we later found out it was true.
palmer report may not have the greatest track record on earth, but putting it in the same category as infowars makes me question your judgement.

(10,565 posts)That he is getting out before he is charged with treason-then all his affairs? I mean really-it's goofy sometimes- a lot of this is just "people making shit up"

(9,670 posts)Though that was suggested as a possibility. The other, more reported, rumor was that Chaffetz would be stepping down as soon as next week.
Not that I subscribe to either, but there's a lot of conjecture at the moment because so damn much is going on behind the scenes, and most of it doesn't add up.

(111,167 posts)That's what happens to a lot of "scoops" over at Twitter, haven't you noticed?
It would have been extremely odd for anyone to quit this early in a term barring serious illness or being caught with the live boy or dead girl...or daily meetings to pass classified information to Boris and Natasha, film at 11.
However, I do seem to remember hearing "this is my last term" this early or even during the election.
I will be delighted if the rat bastard does quit early, but I know that Utah will find another rat bastard to replace him with, so it's a wash.
