Most people don't know they're racist / sexist / misogynist / xenophobic until it's pointed out. Initech Apr 2017 #9

Some people are sexist and proud of it. This is because we as a society don't believe that being a bigot is something to be ashamed of. Such people would agree that they are sexist.

Others are sexist but have convinced themselves they are not sexist. We are, all of us, regardless of our gender, sexist against women by virtue of living in a misogynistic society. The only way we can fight our sexist tendencies is by recognizing them and doing our best to overcome them. Even I, as a feminist woman, have sexist tendencies I have to work constantly to quash. A sexist person who has decided that they are not sexist would disagree if they were told they were sexist. They would be outraged and offended. This would not, however, mean that they were not sexist.

If someone tells me, "I am not sexist", or "I don't have a sexist bone in my body", or "I am the least sexist person you've ever met", I know instantly that they are sexist because they are not recognizing and fighting their sexist tendencies. The same goes for racism, homophobia, or any other form of bigotry.

Most are unconscious of their bigotry. If something raises their consciousness that they are biased then they often move away from the former prejudice- not always.

There are plenty of venues, especially of the paid type.

What is unfathomable is why it is always these grotesque beings doing their damnedest to get it in a work setting while they can't even get it with a lucid conversation in a bar.
