Bedminster, N.J., get ready to give up your weekends (Mar-a-Lago closes for the season on May 14)

The small town of Bedminster, N.J., is set to become Donald Trump's new weekend getaway destination.

Trump's resort of choice since he took office has, of course, been his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla. He's been there seven out of 13 weekends since taking office and has been slammed for his frequent visits.

Mar-a-Lago closes for the season on May 14. It’s believed Trump will then spend weekends away at his golf club in Bedminster, which has a population of 9,000.

Bedminster could get a taste of the traffic chaos that has been plaguing Palm Beach when Trump comes to town.

Florida gets hot and humid during the summer months. People with that type of wealth will go to cooler resorts. They also go on vacations.

I worked at an elite country club decades ago, in the north. They closed for 2 months in the winter. They did their upgrades, remodeling, major repairs, deep cleaning, and fumigation during those months. Guess where the members went. To a country club in Florida. When it started to get hot there they came back.

The best thing was we got paid very well for the 80's and no tipping.
