Bluebird Cam Update 4/19/2017

The female bluebird laid egg 1 on 4/18 and egg 2 on 4/19. We can expect 4-6 eggs total. She will lay and egg a day and start incubating them once the fully clutch is laid. Incubation period is 11 to 19 days. The camera is located in Murrysville, PA.

Screech Owl Update 4/5/2017
The female screech owl, Allie, is currently incubating 3 eggs. Egg dates: #1 on 3/29, #2 on 3/31, and #3 on 4/3. Incubation period is 27-35 days. The male owl, Dakota, will roost in one of the boxes close to the nest box during the day (see roost box streams below). At night Dakota will leave his roost and hunt for food to feed Allie. Allie will do all of the incubating and briefly leave the nest at night.

I have seen Blue Jays, Cardinals, and Chickadees though.

8. Nest Box 4: Chickadee Nest Cam Update 4/24/2017

A chickadee had just completed the nest. The nest if made of moss and fur. We expect the female to start laying eggs any day now. The camera is located in Murrysville, PA.

Update 4/25/2017: This camera is streaming live from the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation in Burlington, KS of a pair of nesting barn owls at their facility. The female is currently incubating 6 eggs. Egg dates: egg #1 4/5, egg #2 4/9, egg #3 4/14, egg #4 4/7, egg #5 4/19, egg #6 4/21. Incubation period is 29–34 days. Earliest hatch date for egg #1 is 5/4.

10. First feeding of the new screech owlet 4-27-2017

This is the feeding of the new owlet at the PixController eastern screech owl box. The male brought a mole or shrew in at 4:40 AM and the feeding can be seen shortly after that.
