Classic! TPM - Josh Marshall - "Trump: They Were Supposed to Love Me"

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/trump-they-were-supposed-to-love-me

By JOSH MARSHALL Published APRIL 23, 2017, 9:05 PM EDT

Over recent months, I’ve several times noted that President Trump thought that once he won the election, everybody would love him. I base this on various comments he’s made and just my general sense of his personality. But nowhere to date has he said it more clearly, more openly.

It comes in this AP interview and it turns on his press coverage (emphasis added) …

TRUMP: You have to love people. And if you love people, such a big responsibility. (unintelligible) You can take any single thing, including even taxes. I mean we’re going to be doing major tax reform. Here’s part of your story, it’s going to be a big (unintelligible). Everybody’s saying, “Oh, he’s delaying.” I’m not delaying anything. I’ll tell you the other thing is (unintelligible). I used to get great press. I get the worst press. I get such dishonest reporting with the media. That’s another thing that really has — I’ve never had anything like it before. It happened during the primaries, and I said, you know, when I won, I said, “Well the one thing good is now I’ll get good press.” And it got worse. (unintelligible) So that was one thing that a little bit of a surprise to me. I thought the press would become better, and it actually, in my opinion, got more nasty.

What strikes me more is not so much the entitlement, that he thinks it should happen, but the fact that he really thought it would happen.

Can't imagine the thought processes of a billionaire who spends so much time complaining about how unfair life is.

He just assumed once he won he'd be beloved. Which was stupid considering how he personally treated Obama, a seated president.

that the rest of the world doesn't exist for him other than as a mirror for his own "glory".

He's like a human bottomless pit of neediness. It's disturbing.

The press was always critical of Twitler. In fact he was more of a joke than anything else.

Honestly, sometimes you can get a sense of what someone is thinking by subtle things they say; but this jack ass is delusional and so full of crap, I can't eat when I hear him speak, or I'll spew it all out on the reading material in front of me. He's just bat shit crazy.

It's bad enough with the generic repuKKKe...but this guy sets a whole new standard on "crazy talk". I honestly think he believes what he is saying, and that's scarier than hell.
