(article in german)

- During the election, the turkish election-commission allowed ballots that were unstamped (=unverified) to be cast. By turkish law, that's illegal.

- After the referendum, Erdogan said that there is no way to challenge the outcome legally, because by law the election-commission has the final say over the result.

- 2.5 million unverified ballots. Erdogan won with 1.69 million votes.

- Election-observers who complained about this were accused of being partisan or sympathizers of the kurdish terror-group PKK. In statements, the turkish government did not address the issue of the unverified ballots.

- 80% of turkish voters, both from the Yes- and No-side, had no idea what the referendum would actually change in the constitution.

- The regions that predominantly voted No harbor 90% of Turkey's economic power and account for 85% of turkish book-sales.

- The regions that have lots of contact with foreigners (tourists) mainly voted No. The other ones mainly voted Yes.
