Getting desperate: GOP wants to both repeal Obamacare AND fund the wall by Saturday.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/obamacare-repeal-government-shutdown-congress_us_58fcc053e4b06b9cb91795c2?nr§ion=us_politics

Saturday is the 100-day-mark for Trump.

The White House wants a vote on the ACA-repeal by then... even though there's no bill to vote on.

Budget director Mulvaney wants to pass a budget by Saturday to prevent a government shutdown... even though he just blew up the negotiations. The Republicans and the Democrats in Congress were actually on the way to craft a compromise-budget, until Mulvany blew it up by demanding that funding for the border-wall be included.

-----------

Wasn't the WH's offer that some subsidies of Obamacare can stay if the Democrats agree to funding the wall? How does that square with funding the wall and repealing Obamacare?

For the budget maybe, but there literally is no repeal-bill that could even be voted on. DetlefK Apr 2017 #4

With all the cuts to social programs and science funding? Is that the budget he wants passed?

Trump's nonsense about offering Dems a deal is just smoke and mirrors to start the narrative of blaming Dems for Repub failure when things fall apart this week

we need conservatives to be on the record for the 2018 election....conservatives will, as always, blame the democrats for their failures.....if the govt shuts down, let it...conservatives will own it

Well, maybe to Trump it matters. But the big item is Friday, when the continuing resolution to keep the gov't funded expires.

Without some accomodation, the gov't will experience another shut down. Repubs are trying to hold us hostage based on their pet projects, but since Dems are not in the majority, they're basically replaying the scene from Blazing Saddles.

(Apologies for the racist dialogue used )

The only thing that republicans are good at is cheating to win elections. They apparently know nothing about governing or legislating. "Who knew it would be so complicated?"
