So, is it inevitable that we are going BACKwards to outlawing abortion?

To me, this is entirely what the support for Demented Don is about. The anti-choice crowd are sticking with this idiot in hopes of stacking the SCOTUS. Considering the age of several liberal and moderate justices, I fear right wing Thugs will be successful. Please talk me down!

And the Christo-Fascist blood lust will secretly celebrate every woman who dies in a back-ally abortion. That will add to the satisfaction of their war on Muslims (by bombing their countries) blood-lust. These MFs are like insatiable vampires with Don as Dracula.

The real fight is for the right to use birth control now.

who are down with this. I see "progressives" all over the internuts who argue to just let it go because you know...something about white working men.

Short answer...but yes. The right is telegraphing another SCOTUS vacancy this summer at which time several new challenges to Roe will get to the court and we are toast. After thirty odd years of running on repeal of ROE, this is the carrot at the end of the stick that the GOP can deliver to their base without having to consider the budget numbers. It is going to happen.

This has been coming for a long time. I have been involved in the reproductive freedom movement since the late seventies and this is the one SCOTUS ruling that has never had the "Protected" mantle of settled law.

The political left had better get it's shit together, because the right is playing the long game and winning.

because it is one of their biggest wedge issues and one of the biggest moneymakers.

There are far too many single issue voters and this and guns are the two biggest ones.

If they were intent on outlawing abortion, they've had ample opportunity to do so.

It's all a charade. It's too important to their fundraising. Red meat for their base.

I needed that reassurance! I know there are many other very important issues, but this one is personal. An aunt, who I never met, died after an illegal, at the time, abortion. Another aunt, by marriage, was an M.D. and started the first Planned Parenthood clinic in my hometown. Lots of history for me!
