ACA: The way I am beginning to see it

is there are too many benefits to put into a good soundbite. I keep finding myself reading about another benefit I hadn't heard of, or that I'd forgotten about and I think, wow, we need to tell people about all of these. So here is a list of some of the benefits that are already in place or soon to be:

Kids to 26 on parent's policy

Coverage for children with pre-existing conditions

No lifetime caps

Medicare prescription drug doughnut hole closed

Fully federally funded Medicaid extension to states for first three years

Refunds from insurance companies if 80% (of premiums paid) is not spent on patients

Coverage for all with pre-existing conditions

There are more. I can't think of them all, and there are benefits I don't even know about, but it only goes to proving my point. There are so many benefits people should be celebrating. Instead the republicans are calling Obamacare too big (and a bunch of other not so nice things) and (some) liberals are complaining it is not enough.

Just my 2 cents.

We have a crappy family policy (for self employed - $$$) that we pay for every month without fail. I don't know how people with children go without insurance. Even crappy insurance.

We hope that no one gets sick and that we are able to get insurance soon. (And a job)

I'll be hoping for the best to your family. There's enough worry when a kid gets sick or injured without worrying about how to pay for their care.

I want to run. I don't want to deal with the selections and figuring it all out like I do when I'm actually picking a policy. That's what it reminds me of. If you've ever done that - tried to choose a health care plan online - you know what I'm talking about. There's a certain negativity, even a panic, it elicits. Finding everything priced out of your reach. Finding out you don't qualify for anything worth while or affordable. Finding out that your life really does suck.

I want bullet points, with a one line explanation of the new benefit and then the option of reading more about it to learn how it fits into my situation. Even a running script at the top of the page highlighting each benefit would be helpful. When you see one you want to know more about - click on it to get the info.

It's a nice site, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't give that immediate hope people are looking for.

Didn't get into it 'cause I don't need it, and not sufficiently curious at the moment.

that the program gives to consumers. Run them constantly to educate the citizens.
Do you think the networks would donate the time? ..........Me neither.

I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself.

PSA's with a new benefit every hour, A - Z. And then again, starting with B. Then again with C. Until the airwaves are saturated with every benefit in every time slot.

And yes, I embrace the term Obamacare just like Obama's team is starting to do. By the time people realize what all the benefits are, I wouldn't be surprised to see its approval go to 60% or higher. And the promise to repeal it will sink Romney like a stone.

and people are seeing the benefits for themselves, only the cold-hearted and wealthy will stick their noses up at it, imo.
