This was an amazing pants-on-fire take-down of Chris Christie blocking decriminalizing small amounts of marijuana out of deference to federal policy while defiantly promoting sports betting in New Jersey in total disregard of federal policy.

Beautiful.

This reminds me of Al Franken's Reagan anecdote about similar weirdly selective-libertarianism. At two different campaign appearances on the same day Ronald Reagan said that the government has no right to require motorcycle helmets because people are free to make their own choices about their risk of brain injury, while supporting harsh anti-marijuana laws because (he claimed) marijuana can cause brain damage.
