The only reason I can think of is that Trump wants to change the subject

(10,378 posts)The Russian investigation was building to a crescendo before the Nunes Treason and ever since then, the entire thing has been effectively removed from the front burner and conveniently stashed on the back burner, well out of sight and mind.
If the investigation shows the slightest uptick, we get stories about North Korea anew...

(23,374 posts)You are probably mostly correct, Botany, that there is quite a bit of dog-wagging regarding North Korea. But there are two other elements to consider.
First, nuclear technology doesn't spring fully formed from the laboratory. It is constantly developing. Even with our own advanced technology, scientists and engineers are striving for new advances. I'm certain that North Korea's team has advanced their technology in the past decade.
Second and more ominous, the North Korean missile technology has advanced. Although they might not yet be able to deliver a payload to the North American continent, they could lob a nuclear missile into South Korea or Japan. Frankly, their missiles are concerning because that technology keeps improving.
We fear terrorist groups getting ahold of an atomic bomb then delivering it in a car or in a shipping container or the like. ISIS is never going to have an ICBM. North Korea could have that rocket very soon.
