In the you can't make this shit up department:
No slight is too small to ignore. West Wing staffers have even fumed about news coverage of the Easter Egg Roll. First, it was that Trumps White House wouldnt be smart enough to pull it off. Then, it was that no one would be there. And after the Easter Egg Roll went off without a hitch, no one wanted to give us any credit, said one senior administration official.

Let's talk about that Easter Egg Roll, shall we Donnie?? Your wife had to remind you to cover your damn heart during the national anthem, instead of standing on the portico like freaking Mussolini, and then you sign some kids hat and toss it into the crowd...not to mention that it was perhaps the whitest Easter egg roll in modern history. I guess we should applaud when Hair Twittler doesn't drool on himself and soil his pants. Damn these guys are thinskinned.

(16,423 posts)3. Trump admits he has no political leanings:
But Trumps ideologically noncommittal approach has bumped up against the constraints of a hyperpartisan Washington where the letters on congressional vote cards D or R are paramount.
Some are whispering that Trump should work with Democrats on infrastructure. Others say he must forge ahead only with Republicans on health care. Maybe he should work with both on taxes. Trump, it seems, is just looking for success.
I am flexible, as Trump said recently in a Rose Garden appearance. And Im proud of that flexibility.
...
Trump just wanted to sign a bill. He didnt necessarily care what it said.
...
You dont walk in with a traditional presentation, like a binder or a PowerPoint. He doesnt care. He doesnt consume information that way, said one senior administration official. You go in and tell him the pros and cons, and what the media coverage is going to be like.
He doesn't care as long as he can score it as a victory.
Compare that to the Republicans who see a victory when they uphold the conservative dogma.
Compare that to the Democrats who see a victory in policies that are good for their interest-groups.
