this morning on Morning Joe is the grease to fry the fish.
Rep Adam Schiff on todays Morning Joe.
My ears perked up when I heard this segment while driving in my car this morning.
Please listen to this segment of Morning Joe and pay particular attention to the segment around 4:20-4:40.
I am appalled that no journalist has picked up on this. To me, Schiff made a startling revelation about the fact that it was Flynns operation that put out and confirmed that the Benghazi attack began from a protest (just as Susan Rice and Hillary were told and first reported to the media during the initial interviews about with the media about the attack). WTF? Flynn actually was responsible for these first assessments. Yet he was the loudest voice condemning Susan Rice and Sec. Clinton claiming that they had lied to cover up Hillarys mishandling of the attack and the aftermath.
This is a BIG fucking deal because it shows you that not only is Flynn a lying sack of shit but it also began one of the biggest factors (fake news) that derailed Hillarys campaign. The Benghazi investigation was began on these lies by Flynn evidently, and it caused major damage to the HRC campaign as the mother of the Nave Seal who was killed was marched out in front of cameras ad nausea claiming that Hillary and Rice lied and were trying to cover up the fact that it was a terrorist attack. Go back to the videos of the Committee hearings and study them in light of this revelation by Schiff which no one seems to find incredulous.
Yes Democrats, Hillary was not a perfect candidate (no one is) but her campaign suffered much more from the onslaught of fake news, ignored truths, and Russian interference, Wikileaks, and a well orchestrated, persistent media barrage of misinformation that brainwashed many voters into voting against her.
But most importantly, it shows one just how evil Flynn is. He should be given no immunity. And the GOP Oversight committees should be held accountable for their purposeful lying and unwarranted attacks on Hillary and for how they used the families of the victims of Benghazi to turn them against their own government.
There is no telling what kind of lies this GOP Congress and administration will tell to lead us into a war with either N.K. or Iran.

(9,670 posts)That cut funding to US Embassies...and bragged about it. They totally have blood on their hands. Like so much of their vociferous rhetoric, their anger is based on projection:
OBRIEN: Is it true that you voted to cut the funding for embassy security?
CHAFFETZ: Absolutely. Look, we have to make priorities and choices in this country. We have think about this 15,000 contractors in Iraq. We have more than 6,000 contractors, private army there for President Obama in Baghdad.
And were talking about can we get two dozen or so people into Libya to help protect our forces? When youre in tough economic times, you have to make difficult choices how to prioritize this.

as soon as it happened they were all over it on every radio station in the country screaming it was a terrorist attack, the clearly provocative anti muslim video had nothing to do with it even though it was blamed for numerous protests around embassies, and when rice suggested it did the limbaughs and hannities and the local blowhards all screamed. they had all been talking about how clinton and obama had ordered embassy marines not to carry live ammo - basically inviting terrorism, and it took the head marines PR spokesman to publicly refute their lie. the airwaves were full of it for as long as it took, including blaming clinton for causing and enabling it personally.
and this kind of shit plaguing democracy and now getting trump in the white house - all because democrats and the left continue to ignore the right's biggest advantage - a true military style propaganda operation of 1200 coordinated radio stations - going on for 30 years

I saw how nasty and despicable he acted at his "rallies" and just knew that people would see through it and abandon the tRump train. But nooooo, that just seemed to egg them on for more loyalty to him. It just boggled and still boggles my mind after his first 100 days in office that his base sticks to his side like lapdogs. What will it take for the blinders to come off?? I am sure, in their minds, they could find a way to justify him standing in the middle of 5th Avenue and shooting someone.

I still wonder if someone fudged those numbers somehow 'cause not one female I know says they voted for him.

(32,634 posts)I still can't figure it out because there's no comparison between Hillary and Trump.
Even if I didn't like Hillary (and I do!) I still would have taken her over Trump in a heartbeat.
But now that things have calmed down and there's been some time to reflect, I think some of the Clinton-hate was also directed towards Bill. I think people didn't want to see Bill back in the White House, and nobody was sure what he'd be doing if Hillary were president. So it's entirely unfair, and nasty and regrettable.
Trump's so unfit for the job it makes me sick to think about it.

(20,178 posts)It was totally irrational hate, but I knew it was there. It was there before Benghazi too.
A lot of people were put off by her involvement in trying to pass health care reform way back when. Then there was this comment:
"I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies and had teas, but what I decided to do was to fulfill my profession which I entered before my husband was in public life."
Many women who worked outside the home were gratified that she was not ashamed or conflicted about pursuing her career.
HOWEVER, all the cookie baking moms, or the working moms who wished they could afford to stay home AND their partners were DEEPLY offended.
Arguing about whether or not their hate is fair is pointless. It's been there for decades and it's not going away. I hope everyone understands that now.

(32,634 posts)Nikibatts, I'm not sure of your age but maybe you're too young to remember the bad ol' days of Richard Nixon and the Watergate bag of dirty tricks. Perhaps you remember the days of Dubya/Dick Cheney/Karl Rove and their nasty dealings?
Here's my point: There has been no end to the dirty tricks that the GOP pulls out in order to win any election. In 2016 it has devolved into Michael Flynn and their entire traitorous bunch. Complicit with the enemy (Putin) in order to beat their real enemy (the Democrats). In their minds, the end justifies the means, so anything they get away with is OK for them.
They really think they got away with it too. But we're going to show them they didn't. Flynn will end up in jail along with a few others. Trump, Pence, McConnell and hopefully Ryan will be out of office.
It takes time and people are getting impatient. But it will happen, we must have HOPE and RESOLVE!

(1,142 posts)The attackers claimed that the anti-Islamic video was part of the reason they attacked. Not that I am here to defend anything Flynn but the idea that the attacks were not related to the video was something that doesn't appear to be supported by these stories.
Here are two stories that reflect that
https://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/18/world/middleeast/apprehension-of-ahmed-abu-khattala-may-begin-to-answer-questions-on-assault.html?_r=0
On the day of the attack, Islamists in Cairo had staged a demonstration outside the United States Embassy there to protest an American-made online video mocking Islam, and the protest culminated in a breach of the embassys walls images that flashed through news coverage around the Arab world.
As the attack in Benghazi was unfolding a few hours later, Mr. Abu Khattala told fellow Islamist fighters and others that the assault was retaliation for the same insulting video, according to people who heard him.
And a similar story afterwards
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/khattala-benghazi-video-new-york-times
Ahmed Abu Khatallah, the suspect captured by U.S. special forces on Tuesday for his role in the 2012 Benghazi attack, reportedly said he was motivated in part by the anti-Islam online video made in America, according to the New York Times.
"What he did in the period just before the attack has remained unclear. But Mr. Abu Khattala told other Libyans in private conversations during the night of the attack that he was moved to attack the diplomatic mission to take revenge for an insult to Islam in an American-made online video," Times reporter David Kirkpatrick wrote in a story on Khattala on Tuesday.
Immediately following the attack, Khattala declined to say whether the video had anything to do with his role in the Benghazi attack, according to the Times.
The New York Times reported in December that the attack was fueled in part by the anti-Islam video, but did not link Khattala to the video in that investigation.
The scandal surrounding the Obama administration's response to Benghazi was centered on whether or not the attack was related to protests surrounding the video.

(2,198 posts)made up by Hillary and the Obama administration through Susan Rice to cover up for the attack was merely caused by Islamic terrorists which seems to be some kind of surreal fetish that the GOP is stuck on. In the fog of war and rapidity of the attack the story about the attack being related to the video was totally understandable. But it was made out to be a BIG DEAL because the GOP was trying to hang the meme "Obama is an Islamic sympathizer" around the President's neck.
Now we learn that Flynn, himself, may have been the originator of the talking point Susan Rice was given.

While working for Obama, He was of the opinion that Radical Islamic Terror was not being adequately addressed....
and that his input on the matter was not favorably received.....
Surely he spotted US Security weaknesses abroad resulting from funding cuts etc...
Would not be beyond reason to think that his disenchantment had been recognized by foreign governments...
Who perhaps, purely out of shared concern regarding ISIS/L ; AQ etc, (wink nod)
offered their assistance to help shake things up over in Washington... you know, highlight their national Security related weaknesses ...
Resulting in Benghazi....
That might explain his inquiry regarding post-retirement foreign agent /income rules & regulations....
He didn't just fall in bed with Putin recently...
