(45,806 posts)will hear about his too. That dirt goes deeper than just OKing Flynn and lying about it. He also lied while on the Sunday shows where he was directly asked about Flynn and he said "I had NO IDEA!" Maybe enough dirt will come out that sticks to Mr. Clean, that when we impeach The Con, we can get a 2 fer.

(108,925 posts)Trump team did vet Flynn, hired him anyway: NBC News
Rachel Maddow reports a scoop from NBC News that the Donald Trump transition team and the White House did do a background check on Mike Flynn. Also, a source tells NBC News they were aware of Flynn's business ties to Turkey, but hired him to be Trump's National Security Adviser anyway.

(16,230 posts)U.S. relations with Turkey have been becoming more and more strained. Under Erdoğan, Turkey has been moving in the direction of becoming an Islamist state. Did you not know this ?
But regardless of any of that, Flynn was acting as a paid advocate of a foreign government and should have filed as such whether it was Turkey, North Korea, or Canada. And certainly a National Security Advisor shouldn't be a paid advocate for any government.

(31,802 posts)It is either an ally or it isn't. As long as it is a NATO member it is an ally like it or not.
The U.S. lobbying laws are full of loopholes. You will find that after the investigations are finished that Flynn broke no lobbying rules. Should those laws be tightened? Yes, probably, but since neither party wants that I don't see it happening.
He may have broken rules regarding non reporting of payments by foreign entities. He did report his trips to the Defense Intelligence Agency and whatever happens it will be a slap on the wrist at best despite the wishes of some.

The world is not as black and white / ally or not ally as you seem to think.
It's been painfully slow, but I remain convinced it will all come out!
