Fascist governments like violent dissent because it provides a justification for a retrenchment on civil liberties. They also use it to de-legitimize peaceful dissent. We are doing a great job with the peaceful protests. I have attended two. Let's keep them up.
As an aside that is why the Congressional Republicans are playing games with health care. They want to pass a bill in the dark of the night before the opposition can coalesce.
If those miscreants do get a bill out of the House it still will take time to get through the Senate. That's when we take to the streets, peacefully.

(51,129 posts)Anyone who thinks the racial tensions in the run-up to 2016 were not provoked to influence the election is naive. Even the Bundy occupation was likely executed specifically for influencing the election.
