(17,002 posts)You have to wonder if he believes this. I'd feel better if he knew it wasn't true but thought the dips that voted for him would believe it.

(6,916 posts)That's his goal - to get people repeating his words. You're playing into his hands.
See George Lakoff - check out his CNN video with Stelter. I can find it and link it if you like.

(6,916 posts)US Journalists believe that news reporting means repeating what people say.
Absolutely not. Journalism means reporting the truth. If his words are lies, the news is the LIE, not the WORDS.
UK journalists have known this for decades.
Some US journalists are figuring it out.
David Corn has a great video clip on how modern journalism can't just be reporting what people say. I can't find it. Anyone can help?

(50,554 posts)Trying to restart the Korean War is not an "accomplishment."
Neither is expending $150 million worth of missiles without even destroying the damn target, attempting to erase the Obama legacy and failing, naming your son-in-law as your closest advisor, having to fire half your Cabinet for being commie stooges, or being such a fuckwit your wife doesn't want to live with you.

(871 posts)Such blatant behavior can not be accepted. The media needs to be at the forefront attacking his lies. The media can not let even one tiny lie from Trump's mouth go unchecked.

(17,862 posts)That is essentially what Trump is asking for in terms of "optimism".
ProfessorGAC
(64,995 posts)An approval rating of under 40% just 6 months after winning a presidential election is not a marker of optimism.
So, if anything is fake, it's this silly tweet.
