Has our country ever had such a sleezeball

as this man rMoney is, running for President. I thought that bush the lessor was the bottom of the barrel but thats not to be. This gentleman, If you can call him that, takes the low so far that even Chubby Checker couldn't limbo under that one, or whatever they called it back then, the limbo rock or something where they held a bar and the dancers would bend over backwards and see who could get the lowest and make it under it without falling on their asses. People supporting this man is an affront on what our whole Democracy is about or was about before the dick and w came though the door.
We don't need this kind of candidate nor do we need this kind of person as a citizen of our once great country. This man and his type should be in a jail cell somewhere or made to leave our country not be running on a major party ticket for President.
You know the thing is, that I don't see any Obama bumper sticker around here in NE Ok and I understand why, Your car would be keyed every time you went into a store and left it in a parking lot because so many of our neighbors and acquaintances are so racist that they can't give this black man his due. You know something else I don't see any Romney bumper stickers around here either. I have seen a few passing though motorist who've had an Obama/Biden sticker on their vehicle and a few who had an old bush/cheney 2004 sticker passing though but I've not seen one yet that has had a Romney sticker on it. When the press, tv, shows the rallies for Romney and in the few incidences where they've shown a picture of the crowds the ones I've seen for rMoney has shown that only a handful of people show up and in the rare occasion where they show a picture of the crowds that show up for President O it always looks like thousands and sometimes thousands more are there. How can it be that the Press, tv, newspapers, can say that these two men are running neck and neck in the polls?
I'll apologize for my strong dislike for this man or 'maybe that should read cretin' but the taste of bush/cheney is still very much with me, how is it that with everyone who has at least two brain cells to rub together not see what this man, Romney, is is beyond me.
Personally I think the Press is lying to us about all of this and are trying their best to make it look like it is close enough of a race that the republicons can steal yet another presidential election.

One of those laughs that comes without any pre warning. Generally one can tell the kind of person they're dealing with by the company they keep. rMoney has some real winners in his inner circle. As I said though I don't remember such as sleezeball as him every. Raygun was bad but this dude takes the cake and runs with it, IMO

even with the Obamacare hysteria and there's nothing much to write about. Kinda like Ford and Carter when the real story was still about Nixon, who everyone wanted to forget.

Oh, sure, you can make a good list-- two wars perpetually winding down, oil price fluctuations, fracking damage, arctic ice melts, the economy limping along, Greece... but the public is notorious for ignoring serious stories, so why cover stuff nobody cares more than a headline about. That's what PBS is for.

I'm convinced that if the Republicans have an A team (although there's no evidence they do) they're holding it back and putting Romney out there as the sacrifice to Obama in a preordained election.

(forgive the language, but it's an example of how horrid Bilbo was)
<snip>
The most appalling chapter in that history was in the 1930s and 1940s when Senator Theodore Bilbo of Mississippi was the de facto "mayor of Washington," as the head of the Senate's District of Columbia Committee. He ruled the city like a autocratic plantation overseer. Bilbo was perhaps the very WORST senator in American history: an unspeakable ignoramus bigot. He once called Claire Booth Luce a "nigger lover," repeatedly praised Adolph Hitler, had ties to Nazi sympathizers in the U.S. and declared that whites were "justified in going to any extreme to keep the nigger from voting." For years he blocked anti-lynching laws. (Source)

This is just a small sample. More:
http://jimbuie.blogs.com/journal/2009/03/worst-senator-in-us-history-theodore-bilbo-ruled-over-washington-like-plantation-overseer.html

He makes some of the wretches serving today look moderate. To go lower than his level, you would have to dig a long, long time.

that was rather progressive for the time. He used his pathological racism to get the support of poor white farmers who were fighting against the wealthy Delta planters that dominated the state for some time. Unfortunately, populism in Mississippi exploited racial divisions to stir up the common people so that much-needed reforms could be passed. Plenty of other politicians in Miss. were just as racist as Bilbo, but Bilbo's rhetorical denunciation of black people was unsurpassed. Nobody much remembers anything about Bilbo's legislative accomplishments, but he is still widely loathed for stirring up hate. There is a statue of Bilbo in the state capitol in Jackson. The legislature's black caucus uses it as a coat rack.

Apparently, many people don't think they're worth a shit, and will lick the asses of the rich in hopes that they will let some crumbs fall down to them. The whole Republican party is based on ass-kissing and adoration to the top people, as they believe they are of much more worth than the rest of us.

mittens wouldn't even be possible if it weren't for the likes of nixon reagan and moron*.

mittens is nothing more than an empty shirt.

while I certainly don't defend the colossal disingenuous halfwit, to say he's the worst, is a rather tremendous claim. any repuke that can breath and run for prez could be considered the worst, but it has nothing to do with the person, it has everything to do with the history that proceeds him. if he didn't have the supremes on his side, if he didn't have the money Juggernaut of citizens united on his side and if he didn't have the majority of media networks on his side (fox leading the charge) he would be just another fool in an expensive suit and a bad haircut.

to say he's the worst prior to him serving his corporate masters in the faux position of President of the United States, that's an awfully big claim. However, if you chose to say that he will be the most corporately controlled right wing repuke of all time, then yes, I would agree.

But to me, nixon, who was basically a felon (if ford, that asshole, didn't pardon him), who carpet bombed north viet nam, was by and far the worst we have ever had. However, to say that mittens would be worse than reagan who over saw an illegal operation in the exchange for weapons for money with our supposed enemy Iran or who presided over one of the worse financial debacles of our time: keatings savings and loan bullshit. Or even to say that mittens would be far worse than george w. morons* whole sale screwing of the American governmental system, and not withstanding, the launching of two illegals wars (one of which was a ridiculous dog and pony show where powell showed the world some cartoons as proof of "mobile labs&quot and destroyed our economy by driving us so deep into dept that people were claiming that the stock market would collapse if nothing was done.

I could go on and on.

but to claim that mittens will be the worst? those are some big and terrifying shoes he has to fill.

Wed Jul 4, 2012, 11:46 AM
Jul 2012

Gallup previously reported a big advantage for Obama when Americans were asked to choose whether Obama or Romney was more likable. The June 7-10 poll -- which asked Americans to rate Obama and Romney separately on each characteristic -- supports that conclusion, but finds that most Americans still perceive Romney as likable.

Overall, half of Americans believe both candidates are likable, with 28% ascribing this trait only to Obama and 12% only to Romney. Just 4% consider neither candidate likable.
