Wash Post GOP op-ed writer attacks Dems

Based on the coordinated messaging we're hearing from prominent GOP voices, it's clear that the GOP's current strategy is to attack Democrats, as their own policies are big losers.
GOP is now trying to
- attack Warren
- attempt to incite division between Clinton - Bernie fans
- lie about Ds being the party of labor and the working class

All these points are hit by GOP strategist Marc Thiessen at the WaPo today. I won't link to avoid clicks.
Here are a few of Thiessen's false attacks:
But most damaging has been the Democrats’ seemingly nonstop efforts to further alienate...

But that narrative went up in smoke when Trump launched missile strikes against Putin’s Syrian ally...

Perhaps one reason is that Democrats have made clear their deep-seated contempt...
Like everyone trying to hurt Democrats he also brings up pro-choice issues.

The Post also has Hugh Hewitt writing op-eds.

Why do NYT, WaPo bring on people like Hewitt, Safire, Stephens, Krauthammer, Thiessen, Douthat? The WSJ today would not hire Krugman or Joan Walsh or Charles Pierce or Kevin Drum.

Progressives, as usual, try to do what's right, think about issues, and talk to everyone, and they get burned by the GOP who are willing to be disingenuous for political advantage.

Look how Fox News selects its stories. For example Sensenbrenner's comment about "Nobody needing the Internet" never appeared on their website (I don't watch them). It even extends to which stories are allowed to be commented on. Any story which shows how barking at the moon racist they are, the comment section is removed. MSNBC is no where near an equivalent.

The fiction of a wall between editorial and news. Fox and CNN actively exploit this trope to push their agenda.

American journalism has believed in flat-earth reporting for the past three decades.

UK journalists mostly do not.

When the GOP is trying to co-opt media, meida must recognize this and defend themselves.
