Here's how to win back the congress

The Republicans showed us years ago how to win elections, but we refuse to learn. The answer is TV ads, which drive public perception more than anything else. Most people don't read. They believe what they see hear on TV.

For many decades, Republicans have relied on TV ads that were partially true (but out of context), or complete lies, in order to defeat their Democratic opponents. And it's worked beyond they're wildest dreams.

Democratic ads, however, tend to be more tame and rely on truth. I have no problem with running ads that rely only on truth. But I think we are lacking people who know how to make effective ads that can swing election results.

A few evenings ago, I was watching a Republican congressman from Ohio being interviewed about the congressional attempt to destroy Obamacare. The best I can say about this congressman is that the man was a total moron. Whatever question he was asked, his answer was some variation of "Our promise, in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016, was to repeal and replace Obamacare."

For the following few minutes of the interview, regardless of the questions, this idiot said nothing more than part of what I quoted in the previous sentence.

Interviewer: Do you think this bill will pass congress?

Congressman: Our promise was to repeal and replace ...

Int: Do you have the votes.

Con: We promised in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016 to repeal and replace ...

Int: What do you think will happen in the Senate?

Con: Repeal and replace is ...

Int: Do most Americans agree with you?

Con: We promised to repeal and replace ...

Int: Have opinions changed?

Con: In 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, we promised to repeal and replace ...

This went on for three or four minutes.

What the Democrats in this congressional district need to do is make an ad of this fool, parroting the same, mindless phrase over and over. And they need to make the point that these are not the words of a man who thinks for himself.

This Republican congressman is nothing more than a robot, programmed to repeat the same phrase over and over, whether it relates to the question, or whether it makes sense or not.

And he's not alone. There are countless, ignorant Republican congressional critters, countrywide, who learn to spit out a few phrases, but are incapable of actually thinking.

The Democrats need to be aware of this and, at election time, invest in ads that show their opponents acting like parrots asking for a cracker. And the punchline of these ads need to highlight that the Republican candidate is a mindless tool and fool.

It really ain't that hard and the congressional reelection money is there.

So, Dear DNC, please seek out every one of these "... repeal ... um ... replace" idiots in 2018 and run ads that show them for the fools they are.

It ain't that hard. They've been doing it to us for years. How about we use their own tactics to show them for the fools they are make them obsolete?

On Edit: And it's not just on the Obamacare issue. Whether they're talking about taxes, jobs, god, or you name it, so many of these fools parrot the party line and are incapable of making a sensible, thought out statement.
