Which Republicans Will Vote No? What 6 News Organizations Are Reporting

'House Republican leaders are working intensively to gather votes for the American Health Care Act, a sweeping bill that would overhaul the health care system, effectively repealing and replacing Obamacare. An earlier attempt at passage in March failed, but the bill has been amended, and a new vote is planned for Thursday.

The path to passage for the bill is narrow. The recent changes, which included a provision that would weaken protections for Americans with pre-existing health conditions, were made to attract members of the conservative Freedom Caucus. Now, more moderate members are wary.

Will the bill pass the House?

Estimates vary about precisely where the vote count stands. Several news organizations, including The New York Times, are performing an unofficial “whip count,” repeatedly asking members of Congress how they plan to vote and why. The numbers above represent the aggregated answers reported by six news outlets, including The Times.

Below, the Republican lawmakers each organization is counting as a “no” vote.'>>>
