Fuck You Chris Christie: Every Year Now, Tax Refunds Get Delayed By Forcing Us To Jump Through Hoops

.

This is really getting to be bullshit now.

Every year now, there are multiple excuses to delay tax refunds for months.

It's either a new computer system, and mysterious delays. Then, forcing us to send in copies of all of our tax documents, which take a couple of months to go over. Then, there will be some other bullshit reason why there is a delay in sending the refund... which miraculously occurs after calling the state several times to ask about its status. It's the three call and we'll send it rule.

Christie, if you didn't flush the budget down the toilet, with tax cuts for the rich, you wouldn't be running a deficit right now. The game is to delay the refund until after June, so it becomes the next governor's problem, pushing debts onto their fiscal tax year.

Chris Christie... A warm and hearty FUCK YOU!

UPDATE: FN NJ says to allow at least 90 days before I hear a response.

A refund means that you are overpaying, and therefore giving the government an interest-free loan. Why do that? There are plenty of withholding calculators out there to help you fill out a new W-4 form. You might wind up having to pay a few bucks next April, but you'll still have more money in your pocket over the year, rather than sitting idly in the state's coffers.

I've been filing the same tax returns for almost 10 years now, and in the past it's been a combined 20 years.

Only the past several years have they been trying these tactics. But, it's not just out0of-state workers.

This is a scam they're doing to a lot of people. It pushes the debt to the next fiscal year.

If you get a return every year, you are letting them take out too much in withholding. Go to HR and fill out a new W-4. Have your employer take less out of your paycheck for taxes. That way, they won't have your money with which to play their games.

With this state, they'll find any excuse to flag a return.

In my case, it's because I am claiming too much in out-of-state offsets.

Doesn't sound like its as slow as New Jersey, but it's still frustrating.

I changed my withhold so that now I owe the state at the end of the year. Got tired of waiting months for a state refund.

This way, they are waiting on me, instead of the other way around.

I am so thankful that we have a sane State Government out here in CA.
