Who to thank for Trumpcare

For 30 years Republican talk radio stations all over the country have warned us of the evils of single payer.

Talkers like Rush Limbaugh warned us how bad Canadian and European socialized medicine was and how much their citizens hated it. Canadians crossed the border to get our health care so they didn’t die in the waiting rooms. European doctors worked their asses off in med school only to realize later they had to take a bus to work because they couldn’t afford cars!

Every time Democrats tried to reform health care the tireless talkers on the radio warned loudly against such anti-American socialist follies.

And then along came Obama. America as we know it could have been destroyed by the Public Option but more than 1000 radio stations and their tireless talkers worked hard and repeated slogans for citizens to scream at their representatives in town halls. With some bus passes and a little organization thanks to the Koch Brothers, they stopped it. That movement was called the Tea Party.

Then came the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. It passed but Republicans were able to put some limits on it. The tireless talkers made sure everyone knew that President Obama was wrong about a few things and was a terrible web designer. They made sure the country knew the only option was to repeal it.

And then Hillary Clinton ran for president. In the 25 years since she tried as First Lady to pass health care reform known as ‘Hillarycare’ every Republican talk radio station in the country warned of the continued threat she posed. Luckily the tireless talkers were there to tell us about Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation, and the emails.

Thanks to those stations and their tireless talkers Donald Trump is in the White House now and the Obamacare repeal has finally passed congress.

So if you want to thank Republicans please consider calling your local Republican radio stations. Thank them for all the years of tireless work they put into preventing Single Payer and Public Option, and then repealing Obamacare. They really do deserve a big share of the credit.

If you can’t get onto one of the local talk shows to thank a tireless talker and his listeners personally on air just thank the call screener. You won’t have to wait and you can call and thank them a few times to make sure they pass the message on.

And call the advertisers who paid for all that work on behalf of the Republican Party.

It might also help to thank your state university if it’s listed below. Those 88 universities broadcast sports on 257 Limbaugh stations. Many of those are the loudest radio stations in the country. If they hadn’t been able to use university mascots and logos to help them attract advertisers to pay for keeping America free of socialized medicine we’d probably have single payer by now. And Clinton, or maybe even Bernie Sanders, as president.

He pulls in about $40 Million a year. So he has absolutely nothing in common with anyone
who has to worry about where their health care is coming from when they need it.

And contact emails.

And PEOPLE to talk to. Who at these colleges is to blame? (University officials HATE being identified as doing bad things).

it's easy to spin the dial to a rw station, listen for a few minutes, get a company contact number

not sure best approach for schools, probably different for different schools. the school groups might have the best opportunity to make that work. petitions maybe. or fundraisers to make up for loss of ad revenues might help get it attention, especially since the lost revenue is likely to be small for radio. and finding that number out might take sleuthing work.
