I am correct that the goal of this site is to support the Democratic party?

And Democratic candidates?

If I am wrong, please let me know. Thanks.

5. Here are the Terms of Service:

I'm guessing there is another purpose here, though.

6. I'd say promoting democratic principles even

when the party neglects to do so. It makes no sense to promote and elect republicans visiting the party because they're in exile.

7. We can neither confirm nor deny the purpose served by any underground community which may or may not

Exist.

8. What about instances like

..the NY state Democrats who run as Democrats, use the party money and infrastructure and tools to get elected as Democrats, but then caucus with and throw control of the state to the Republican party?

Hey, they are Democrats, right? Should people keep supporting them so that they can continue to throw their weight and support to the other party?

So.....yeah, it's not as black and white as it may seem.

9. The Mission Statement...

From: https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=aboutus

Democratic Underground is an online community where politically liberal people can do their part to effect political and social change by:

Interacting with friendly, like-minded people;
Sharing news and information, free from the corporate media filter;
Participating in lively, thought-provoking discussions;
Helping elect more Democrats to political office at all levels of American government; and
Having fun!

After more than a decade online, Democratic Underground still hosts the most active liberal discussion board on the Internet. We are an independent website funded by member subscriptions and advertising, and we have no affiliation with the Democratic Party. Democratic Underground is a truly grassroots community where regular members drive the discussion and set the standards. There is no other website quite like it anywhere on the Internet.

We are always looking for friendly, liberal people who appreciate good discussions and who understand the importance of electing more Democrats to office.

10. Not necessarily.

It can also be to discuss ways to change and reshape the Democratic party, not just support it.

14. Apparently to some, "supporting" the Democratic party means insulting everything

about it, criticizing its leaders, calling it out of touch -- all in the name of "support", you see.

15. Originally that's what it was

Unfortunately, it's not necessarily what it's become. Only the 99.9% Pure are worthy.
