(6,916 posts)In 2011 I woke up to Romney calling Obama a socialist repeatedly in a speech played verbatim on NPR.
I have barely listened to NPR since.
Journalists used to think it was news merely to report what people said. But then the GOP figured out that blatant lies could exploit journalists that do that. Today's news means reporting the truth. (I'm paraphrasing David Corn of mother jones. He gets it.)

They need to change their call letters to SOFT-SPIN (R).
