Here's the latest little rescue kitten hanging out in my bathroom

I found him Saturday. I think he's about 5 weeks old, seems healthy and is already affectionate. I've had feral kittens that take a while to calm down, but he did right away. I'm calling him Howie, as in Lesley Howard from Gone With The Wind. He really is a sweetheart but he's going to stay isolated from the others a little longer, and he's not happy about that and he has great lungs and is not adverse to letting me know he wants to roam. He has a brother or sister I tried to nab, but no luck. It's turned cold for the next few days, so he/she is hiding underground like this one did. I'll try again later in the week when it warms up again.

He's in there with this old lady below. She's Azarena, an older cat someone abandoned. I've tried to introduce her to the others and she's okay around males, but she and the females go at it right away. She's happy to have her own bed and food and really doesn't care about getting out of the bathroom...so far. She's not thrilled with Howie, but he will probably move out in a few days.

Maybe when it warms up, you cold put Howie outside in a cat carrier. His cries will bring out his siblings. There could be more than one. Cute cats.

I think hes probably young enough to not know better like Howie and go in the trap. Then I need to catch mom and get her fixed.

They are just the best. And they are all different.

I don't have my own cats right now because my dogs have not been raised with cats and I am afraid they would hurt them. Not going to take a chance. But I get to take care of lots of cats and they are almost all rescues if one sort or another. They just add so much to their owner's lives.

Animals of all sorts just give so much to us. I take care of guinea pigs and flying squirrels and birds and rabbits and fish and ferrets as well as dogs and cats. They are all just incredible.

I am so lucky to do what I do.

Rescue pets are the best, especially the older ones. They remember what it's like to be safe nd fed, and they ate really grateful for the second chance.
