They just got a piece of my mind: "Are you serious? Since when does a supposedly reputable news outlet actively solicit praise from its readers for any public official, ever? Just aside from the fact that after wracking my brain I still cant think of a single damn thing to say about Trump that would be even marginally nice," the fact that you are actually asking people to do this is absurd, insulting and bizarre. I suspect this will backfire, bigly."

(4,187 posts)that this is the sort of thing I would expect to read in the state-owned newspaper of a dictatorship. I reminded them that their job is to criticize those in office to get them to do better, not to "praise" them. I pointed out that they wouldn't be praising Hillary Clinton had she been in the White House.
