With all Comey knows about the Trump/Russia investigation

...his first thought at news of his firing must have been 'treason'.

When he ultimately gets to publicly defend himself against this firing it should be epic.

...speaking to a group of employees with the TV on in the background. It flashed "Comey Fired"...and he laughed. He told the group some like "that's a good one - how did you guys arrange that". The SAC came in a asked him to take a call in a private office. Turns out some news station had it 10 minutes before the letter was delivered (by Trump's personal body guard) to the Justice Dept.

We're clearly in WTF land here.
