...and checked in tonight to see what sort of actions were being planned. Demonstrations? Strikes? Calls to flood your congressional representative's phone lines?
Basically, nothing, except for a couple of Internet petitions (you know, the kind everyone ignores) calling for a special prosecutor. But, aside from those two damp squibs
crickets.
Is it just that everyone's too shell-shocked to be able to come up with a rapid-response strategy, or is it an acknowledgment of our apparent powerlessness? Either way, it's anything but reassuring.

A certain sense of powerlessness, as you suggested? We need strong political and civil leadership in this, someone to help focus protest and action. Someone who has the power to act, that we can focus our support on.
I'm probably not thinking it through, just shooting from the hip, so to speak.
Very happy to see you posting; your excellent work is sorely missed in the photo group.

(1,865 posts)GeeWhizzz, I don't even like fooot ball any more, but that's my thought process tonight.
I think (& EXPECT) Dems will take a strong stand & resist trump's agenda, will obstruct his craziness, & push for special prosecutor, INDEPENDENT investigation, & hold all the freakin guilty ones accountable. That's why they are 'quiet' tonight..
They be WORKIN!
But I expect & YEAH, INSIST, on goood stuff tomorrow.
