At least the official investigation. It's clear to me that Trump's firing of Comey was intended to send a clear message to all those who are in charge of these investigations. It's Trump's way of saying, "Knock it off, or I'll knock you off" without actually saying it.
And, sadly, he can do that quite effectively. So, what needs to happen is for the investigation to be taken into the public arena. I'm hopeful that enough people involved with the process at high levels will have the courage to leak information and evidence from the investigation so far to trustworthy media outlets. The Washington Post and New York Times, along with other major newspapers, would be the best choice for such a release of information.
There is precedent, of course, for such leaks when investigations are being quashed by a President. We need only look back at the entire Watergate debacle to see such precedents.
I encourage all those who are involved and who have access to information and evidence to immediately copy that information onto portable media, and in a form that can be interpreted without access to proprietary software, and then to send the data to the media outlets described above. If duplicates of such information are sent by multiple people to multiple outlets, that will be even better.
Time is short. Do it now. You may not have access to the information soon. Please stand up for what is right and do what you know is the right thing.
Thank you!
