that James Comey was one of the good guys, that he had been boxed into a corner in October when Guliani was going to leak the story about Weiner's laptop, and that he was actively pursuing the Russian investigation.
And now we hear that Comey's letter from the FBI to Chaffetz was classified, and that Chaffetz removed the classified markings before he released it to Congress. So Comey had NOT intended it to be publicly released.
And we're hearing that Comey got fired because he was viewed as disloyal to DT, and he was asking to expand the Russian investigation.
So Louise was right about Comey being a "white knight," despite his flaws. And she was also the first to report on the first FISA warrant, followed by the BBC and the Guardian, and then McClatchy.
Claude Taylor's sources have allowed him to report on the existence of warrants and Grand juries weeks before anyone in the MSM covered the stories. He also has been asserting that Comey was seriously working on the Russia/Trump case.
So Comey has turned out to be a good guy, despite his mistakes; and Louise and Claude have been doing as well as much of the MSM in keeping us informed.
Something to keep in mind as we go forward.
ON EDIT: When you read Louise's blogs, you'll notice that she carefully distinguishes between specifics that she's certain about and other matters that are just her speculation (educated guesses). Also, Claude will distinguish between rumors and chatter vs. facts trusted sources have informed him about. So it's important to keep those distinctions clear.

(3,055 posts)Why did he make the "hundreds of thousands" email reference. It was an intentional lie, not a misstatement.

(108,973 posts)I think it was a mistake, understandable in 5 hours of testimony. And he did correct it.

(7,500 posts)have taken a beating by some on here. I have found them to be usually pretty good being so far out in front people say why isn't anyone else saying that it can't be true. One of my yardsticks is to see who follows them. I've been amazed at some of the people I've seen. I also appreciate they indicate when they are working off something somebody else was reporting.

(9,670 posts)We are going to have to rely on outsiders like Mensch and Taylor to dare to go places the MSM will not touch with a ten foot pole.
Sure, you have to take what they report with a grain of salt, but their track record on Trump/Russia has been pretty damned spectacular.
