Question about flynn's senate intel subpoena

Toward the first of the house and senate investigations they said they were going to make sure what they did wouldn't interfere with the fbi investigation. Now that they have subpoenaed flynn does that mean the fbi investigation is to a point where it doesn't matter?

Committee either does not know that yet...

Or the subpoena is designed to force the (possible) existence of any such indictment out into the open..
