(804 posts)I have a common name (common enough that it's hard to google me) and there I was. Some of the details were wrong about who I'm related to, but enough was right that it was pretty disturbing. And I have almost no social media presence at all!

I have appreciated this info, as I sometimes need addresses for mail.
P.S. I'll bet you will NOT get "White Pages" scrubbed.
P.P.S. Mentioned in a relative's obituary?There's your name (maiden/married/spouse), usually your current place of residence, and all of that for any siblings.
THEN it's a hop-skip to LinkedIn, Facebook, Google Images, any Letter to the Editor you've written, ANY newspaper article you were ever mentioned in, including school sports, ....
Frankly, the barn door of "Smile! You're on Candid Internet!" has been wide open for decades.
