photographed by a grand master, we now have this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/whitehouse
It's not the photographer's fault, of course, that 45 does so little that's interesting from a real life perspective: he's mostly sitting at a desk or in front of the mantelpiece with a visitor, or surrounded by a group of people. There are almost none that look completely candid. A lot of the photos are of Pence.
His official photographer is Shealah Craighead, who was the official photographer to Laura Bush, and the campaign photographer for Sarah Palin in 2008 election.
Happily, the 6,668 photos from the Obama years can still be seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/obamawhitehouse/

There is a pic of a little girl hugging Melanie. I think that's the first time I've ever seen her with a genuine smile. It's mostly of her hair, though.

(9,426 posts)can only be as good as his/her subject. The Obamas are GENUINE people. The tRumps are greedy grifters, the entire group.

(10,122 posts)The racial mix of people around Obama seems much closer to being representative of the US racial demographics.
Pete Souza was into capturing real human moments. Trump's photos look like they could have been taken by a robot.

(24,259 posts)The sea of white males and lack of diversity around Trump and Pence stands out like a sore thumb.
From the pics I've seen on Instagram and elsewhere, Melania seems the happiest and most relaxed when she's with actual children and not the toddler in chief.
