I guess the GOP has decided to go down with the ship.

McCain, Ryan, McConnell, all of them. Gonna suck us all to the bottom with them, but whatever. I HATE the people who did this to the country, whether through ignorance or malice.

They won't go down, they are playing this perfectly. All of them in gerrymandered districts are playing to the base, the base will say Dump was framed and they will play along.

Only moderates or those in unsafe districts are in trouble. And those who are in safe zones, don't give a shit. Because, they are safe and its even safer to be in a party of opposition.

Putin's main goal was to hinder Clinton to keep her occupied domestically. Dump is bringing a LOT of unwanted attention. In the end, I wouldn't be surprised if its Moscow that drops a dead body with Dump's name attached. Their Frankenstein has gotten loose, and they will destroy their creation and apologize to the IC community world wide, albeit, via back channels.

It has been past surreal for a long time.

No doubt Putin will drop a few more dead bodies associated with this mess soon. It's what he does. With Trump's health being so obviously poor, he could kick on his own pretty easily too. His BP has got to be a horrible mess. And then the conspiracy theories will NEVER end. Shoot me now. Who knew a single obese, vicious, narcissistic reality show host could cause so much trouble?

Particulary Mitch McConnell. And Richard Burr.

Fun fact: If they arrest Burr or he is unable to complete his term, the Democratic governor on NC will appoint his replacement! That would be the sweetest of sweet revenge.

If it was simply about money, they might capitulate. At the end of the day, all of this partisan wrangling is an expensive drag on the economy. But it's worse. They are fixated on hurting Democrats the way and abusive stalker is fixated on controlling their ex. It's pathological.

"We must deregulate", but the 99 percent of the Fox News faithful never catch on that it's all multinational corporate bamboozling, and cult mentality generated by enforced ignorance and malice.
Cult members never catch on until they are far beyond salvation from ruin. Holy crap how many unemployed idiots had "Miss Me Yet"" stickers on their huge pickemuptrucks with dumbledore's face on it right after the O8 elections?
It is assuredly past the time we can turn their "How's that hopey-changey thing goin' for ya" bullshit right back on them. But hateful remarks and attempts to point out how ignorant the ignorant are, are counter-productive, only serves to reinforce their idiotic resolve.
I'm placing my efforts on convincing the millennials of the importance of participation in elections.
And hope enough of the Trumpers realize their yuuuuuge mistake on their own in about two years after they get laid off... again.

that's the sad part.

They will hold on to power however they can, even if it means disenfranchising every person in this country.

They. Don't. Care. About any of it.

We were born from revolution. We have always been a democracy, however imperfect. Good luck with trying to disenfranchise us all.

but...lately it is really hard to see any silver lining, or even a sliver of light at the end of this long, dark tunnel.

It doesn't matter what he and his minions do, they fucking get away with it and it saps my ability to hope.

(Plus, my mood is extra dark today, had to put down our 14 year old dog, which may be making me slightly more frustrated than usual)

I want to believe, but we weren't able to stop crosscheck, voter ID laws, no-paper-trail voting machines and so much more. Our election process has little integrity these days.
