Rachel & Lawrence - the Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen of cable news
I know that good news have been in short supply of late, so it gives me great pleasure to be the bearer of glad tidings: Lawrence ODonnell will be on MSNBC tonight!

Heres another bit on info Ive found from Variety:
MSNBC and Lawrence ODonnell are in negotiations to keep the veteran host in his 10 p.m. slot at MSNBC, according to two people familiar with the discussions. While the outcome of any talks about renewal or extension are never guaranteed, the network hopes to keep the former West Wing producer and writer anchoring his The Last Word, according to these people.
Recent press reports have suggested that MSNBC might be looking to part ways with ODonnell and open his 10 p.m. hour to a new host. But one of the people familiar with the discussions suggested that speculation might be the result of one of the parties trying to sway negotiations. The reports, this person suggested, might best be viewed as a new twist on an old game of chicken. GO LAWRENCE haha

If there are impeachment hearings how will we get the truth if progressive voices are silenced?

(4,664 posts)reports. I want to believe he's staying, just wary of popping the champagne quite yet.
Comments about Griffin are because they all support him, but there were also rumors of Griffin maybe being out in time also:

(39,304 posts)I was a tad lazy with the copy function haha. Looks like this is a win for Lawrence. He may have just been smart to float the rumor during negotiations. Then thousands of complaints later..
We know he's smart!

(295,929 posts)bad news that he was getting cancelled after so many calls went into NOT cancelling him.
Wonder what David Frum was thinking with his tweet?!

And why did Joy have to get off her couch and run over there?
She tweeted that! Maybe a show of support or -?

(1,462 posts)There is nothing definitive about a contract renewal at the link. Just that he is on the air tonight. Reading the comments at link is more of the same. I'm going to send an email and call tomorrow just to be safe!

(39,304 posts)like to remove him. Trump surely would like that. A show of support is a very good thing.

(1,685 posts)This place is conspiracy theory central. It's full of nonsense. About 10 percent of threads are good. The rest are nonsense, unsupported, and unreadable.
Guess what, Joy Reid is still there. That was the last stupid rumor stamped out. Pick out your sources and provide them. Support your topics with some substance.

But there has been reporting other than at DU that his contract is almost up and that MSNBC was turning more conservative.
You can google it if you want.

(43,982 posts)Not much actual reporting. Seemed mostly like click-bait to me.
Totally agree about Lawrence. We need him to keep doing the great job he does.

(43,982 posts)i've noticed a few posters pushing a narrative lately about how "horrible" MSNBC is. Lots of threads saying how this or that host said something awful. I'm watching the same show, and what the thread says is basically a lie.
