Rosenstein testimony to Senate was profoundly disturbing.

I'm not buying the idea that Congress is out of this picture. We need to have every possible investigation proceed until we have all the answers.
Republicans should not be allowed to use the special prosecutor as an excuse to further delay or stifle investigations.

Starting with the insufferable prick who put Trump in the White House - J Edgar Wannabee Comey!

You are one of my favorite posters.

However on this story your rage seems to not allow you to see the forest for the trees.

The forest being Trump/Russia. Comey's firing was obstruction of justice.

Carry on.

5. Did Rosenstein set Trump Up?

Rosenstein said that he knew Trump was going to fire Comey when he wrote the letter explaining why Comey should be fired.
The letter did not appear to be an official DOJ letter; just a compilation of information you can find on a google search.
It is possible that Rosenstein knew what happened at the meeting between Trump and Comey when Trump asked Comey to, "Just let it go."
Rosenstein did not have an adequate explanation as to why he wrote the letter.

6. Did Trump set Rosenstein up?

Looks to me like trump, Sessions, and Rosenstein conspired to obstruct justice with Comey firing, and now Rosenstein can no longer claim he was unwitting. Intent is part of establishing obstruction, and Rosenstein knew what Trump's intent was, so he is part of the conspiracy. I'm more inclined to think Rosenstein is now trying to save his own ass.

Rosenstein had to remove himself at this point anyway to avoid further entanglement in the obvious conspiracy after the Comey Memo was found out. Previous to that reveal, there wasn't public evidence. Just like with Flynn, the actions are not determined by the evidence or their own knowledge of the crimes, rather seemingly by when evidence becomes public.

In all of the reports today, that was among them, but I can't remember which one.

14. I think that's possible. And note that Rosenstein didn't call for Comey's firing in the letter.

But the day after Comey got fired, Rosenstein appointed Mueller.

12. That it's not much of a tell, can indicate stress,

a sort of automatic way of helping oneself stay calm, or that it needs a scratch.

I went and looked to see if there was anything new on this and just found the usual. Notably, "...there is no single behavior indicative of deception (Matsumoto, et. al. 2011, 1-4; Navarro 2008). There are indicators of stress, psychological discomfort, anxiety, dislike, issues, or tension, but not deception..."

What a shame. But for absolutely sure, if there were, we'd all have trained ourselves out of it.

Here's a link to the Time report on this untimely departure, citing AP:

"According to the AP, she is leaving to pursue "other opportunities."

This guy is a survivor and when push comes to shove, will save his own ass. Probably thought he had a nice cushy job at the DOJ, then got thrown under the bus. Realized he was in trouble, deep trouble and needed to wash himself clean of this mess.

Throw in a special a counsel and it absolves him. Oh and if Trump fires him, it will only make things worse.

For all any of us know, Comey and Rosenstein had already planned what to do if DT fired Comey.

Rosenstein had to follow lawful orders, so he may yet squeak out of the obstruction conspiracy.
